Figuring out how to improve area under and around back porch.
My dad's house has an area under the back porch that is in rough shape. I'm trying to figure out what can be done to improve this at reasonable cost beyond hiring a company to put in a concrete pad.
Its basically dirt and rocks right now and I don't think I can reasonably do much about that. But maybe there are some small to medium (potentially large later?) projects I can do to improve the area. Maybe raking up the rocks? Don't know if that is a waste of time. Water pools pretty badly despite the drain because the grading isn't good anymore. The concrete slabs were tossed in just to have something to step on to avoid the mud, but they aren't seated well and wobble a lot.
There is also the area with terrible grading, basically a miniature hill, visible next to the toy tractor, which I'd like to help improve in some way. Grass also doesn't grow there for some reason.
I could use tips and ideas on making this area better, from small to large. I'd like to start small and work toward improving the area as I have time.
