desired effect

Hi Everyone,

I am looking into a way to add a spherical refraction effect in Nuke.

Basically I want to take the fist image with the rubber toy and distort it so that it looks as if it is inside a sphere.

I have been struggling quite a bit with this effect and ended up with a decent solution with expressions and stamps, but was wondering if there could be another more 'correct' way of doing it.
