Im fairly new to hockey. I don't fully understand game plans and setting up plays. But it seems to me that When we get the puck our first instinct is to clear it forward. No matter how much space we have or how many defenders are in front of us. We seem to clear it away 8 times out of 10.
I do understand when there's defenders closing in or no clear pass to make but Ive been bothered by how many opportunities we have to slow it down and set up a play but instead we toss the puck forward. Only for the Knights to have 2 guys on it at their side and one of us fighting to get it back.
Please explain.
