Stopped buying physical media back in the early millennium due to ease and convenience of digital only media (download/streaming).
Wife and I just bought a home recently (got married a few years ago but we were staying with relatives, so almost everything was still on boxes for a while) and have been taking stuff from out of storage.
She had a big box of all CDs from here college days (she was friends with her college radio station). I told her if this is a part of you, your history, and something you want to keep then we gotta display them. So we put all the CDs we could fit onto our bookshelf. Thing was we didn't have a CD player to play any of them since we haven't owned a CD player in decades lol.
So I went out and got us a small CD player. Nothing crazy just a cute little player that was small scale. After that I went back to my parents home and got all my CDs from when I was a teenager and put them up with hers too in our home together. An we've been listening to CD music like its the late 90s now too lol.
Next bit and reason for this post is I actually started thinking to get some newer music that I/we got into after I/we stopped using CDs in general. So I hopped online and got a few albums of some groups we enjoy; Phantogram being one of them.
Now I finally have a new physical music album; something I haven't had since the late '90s lol.
