Pump filter blues
We opened our pool two weeks ago and it’s been one headache after another. Pool was installed in 2023, so this is our fourth opening, all done by pool service companies. Last year, we found a great service provider who sold the company over the winter to a company with a poor reputation. I didn’t find out about this until they came to open.
First it seemed like the valves were not properly positioned and the pool was not being filtered at all. I cleaned the pump filter because it was really full of debris, but it was impossible to get water back into the pump until the company came and “fixed” it and moved the valves around. Now the pump and filtration are working the way they should or at least until I cleaned the pump filter again. It drains faster than I can turn it back on. No pressure in the cartridge filter even after bleeding (nothing coming out of the pressure valve).
I’m getting tired of calling this company to fix whatever mess they created just opening the pool. Just doing some googling, it looks like it might be an issue with the check valve. Is there any reason why it would be installed sideways like this? It’s hard to imagine that this would be part of any pool opening, but I’m at a loss here on why this pump is not keeping water after cleaning the basket.
