My Mini Nubian doe is 6 years old, freshening for the 3rd time and currently recovering from ketosis. She is due in 2.5 weeks. Her body condition is a little on the skinny side. She seemed to drop weight extremely quickly and I am doing all I can to help with that.

We believe she is carrying multiples and has a little clear discharge (which is typical for her in the few weeks before she delivers). I can feel fetal movement as well.

The puzzling thing is that she seems to have a fever in the evenings (up to 106.3) and no fever in the mornings (typically around 100.9-101.5).

She is currently eating her hay and minerals, drinking, and being sassy with her goat friends. She’s alert and takes treats but definitely isn’t as enthusiastic about food as she usually is.

She was treated for stronglyes last week with ivermectin and panacur after a positive fecal.

She also got bloodwork and it all came back normal.

It seems we were able to catch the ketosis early and with the help of pain meds, vitamin b, subq fluids, magic and PG we were able to turn things around.

I am consulting my veterinarian but I would love to hear from other goat people about two things: 1. Their experience bringing a goat back from ketosis. How long does it usually take for does to return to normal? Any tips for supporting her through the rest of her pregnancy and through delivery? 2. This weird temperature fluctuation. Any ideas what is going on? She did kind of choose to bake herself in the sun the last couple of days (we are just beginning to experience spring here and it is heating up a bit too low 60s).
