i've seen a lot of posts about networking into finance roles but most of it is "go to info sessions, reach out on linkedin, get a warm intro." curious if anyone has had actual success cold emailing people at funds directly, not through a mutual connection.
not talking about spam blasting, more like researching a specific person, writing something relevant to their work, and just sending it. does that actually work or do people in finance just ignore unsolicited emails entirely?
asking because i've heard conflicting things. some people say it's a waste of time, others swear by it. would be curious to hear real experiences either way.
simple q.
who do you outreach to, why them? whats the best people to reach out to or make connections with to ensure growth as an indie artist, and which channel or place is most worthwhile to invest in for outreach?

a year ago i applied to 300 jobs, got 3 interviews, fumbled all.
sent 80 cold emails, got 8 interviews, 2 jobs. so i decided i would never apply again, only send emails.
i made a tool to automate it for me. 350+ users rn.
i made it for students but musicians and artist managers are using it a lot more. so are founders, sales people, vc scouts, etc. pretty cool!
so if you guys know anyone in any of those industries, i'd love if you could help connect us! i am also open to feedback.
what makes sema different is that it can scrape linkedin and reddit too, send emails through ur gmail, let you know when someone opens or clicks it, and send automated follow ups too!
lmk what you guys think!
