Symptomatic subclinical, told that I don't need medication, what next?
My pediatrician recently ordered me a thyroid panel due to immediate family's history of developing various thyroid issues developing in teenhood. Today my pediatrician got back to me and said: "Vitamin D is very low- recommend 5000 IU daily. Thyroid is subclinical- no need for medication at this time, T4 is normal will continue to monitor."
Im feeling weirdly defeated being told that I don't need medication because I'm not asymptomatic. my symptoms are really bad. Im getting my period 2-3 times a month, hair loss, heart feeling weak/skipping beats in the morning, extreme fatigue, joint pain, limb numbness etc... At my yearly physical where the thyroid panel was ordered I was speaking about menstrual problems because I assumed I had PCOS, and didn't think to bring up the other symptoms which I'm heavily regretting now.
should I communicate this to my pediatrician now or wait until what I'm assuming is another blood test in 3-6 months 🫠?? I'm 17 and have no help from my parents with medical stuff whatsoever and this is all really frustrating trying to figure out on my own. On top of that I just started a carpentry apprenticeship and I'm planning on going back to college this summer. The thought of having to continue rawdogging my symptoms after doing so for the past 4 years is scarring me really badly.
any and all feedback is appreciated :)
