i’m currently in my third and final year of psychological science at deakin university and i have no clue what my plans are for next year. i’m trying to be realistic as i know i’m an average student and probably won’t get into honours, so i’ve been thinking about other pathways to head into after graduating that are somewhat related to my interests.
i do genuinely enjoy psychology and the practical parts of it (e.g., interacting with individuals, learning about why we are the way we are). i’m not a fan of anything research related as i’m horrifically bad at it so i would love to work in a role where i am actively making a difference in someone’s life and engaging with the community.
i’ve been thinking a lot about it and am considering either going into speech therapy, counselling (in schools) or teaching (unsure about either secondary or primary). does anyone have any recommendations for unis that offer good programs for these courses or just have any straight up advice for my situation? anything would be great, thanks!
