Can anyone help me understand my husband’s obsession with the pub and having beers

I wish the title was a joke. I don’t mind him going here and there, especially on a hot day. Same as he lets me do my own thing. I’m just not a massive fan of drinking personally so if it’s a regular thing I do fine it a bit annoying honestly. But obviously my job isn’t to make him feel controlled.

I guess the main annoyance is it seems to be the only thing him and his brothers have in common even though they have kids same as my husband. I don’t have any siblings but if I did, yeah I can see the fascination with wine and a dance every now and then, even maybe going to the pub for some dinner and a soft drink, but really I’d prefer to go do something as a family with our kids and their kids and their spouse etc or go for a cafe date or go to the gym/walk.

I’m not judging my husband, just trying to get an understanding. I believe his brothers are alcoholics because most weeks and days they are drinking casually and if you even make a joke about their drinking they do get quite upset. My husband isnt like that so he says but he always loves the pub a lot so who knows.

Am I missing something? What is so great about the pub 😂

Cliche post but I needed to rant after the ol’ scroll of Facebook.com. The comment sections after a crash are always ruthless but even more to parents I’ve noticed.

When people say “a mother of x kids, what are they doing on a bike” in response to a crash or “He didn’t think of his kids very much did he” in response to a fatality but if someone dies in a car crash, it’s “what a terrible tragedy”, “such unforeseen circumstances” and then *insert gofundme link*

I’m gonna say a good 60% of crashes are the fault of other drivers on the road. They don’t care less for bikes because it’s not THEIR interest so they think they don’t have to scan the road properly or be aware of bikes on the road. I don’t particularly care for my neighbour’s grass he waters every day for the past 20 years of his life probably, does it mean I will drive over it if I’m not bothered to reverse out of my driveway tomorrow. I swear there needs to be a mock part of driving tests where a motorcycle is in a vulnerable position in traffic and if the car doesn’t response appropriately they shouldn’t be allowed to hold a car license. Wishful thinking….
