Planning a girls trip to New Orleans for Beignet Fest in November, group of 10 staying at the Hotel Monteleone. Here's what I have so far and would love local input!
Arrive Thursday late morning/early afternoon. No plans. Do some exploring.
Thursday night: Le Petit Chef immersive dinner at Criollo Restaurant inside the Monteleone
Friday: City Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus tour during the day, Steamboat Natchez Jazz Dinner Cruise in the evening
Saturday: Beignet Fest at City Park with the Ruby Slipper VIP experience, then Frenchmen Street for live music at night
Sunday: Brunch at Ruby Slipper Old Metairie, then Longue Vue House and Gardens, then afternoon attractions back in the city (leaning toward WWII Museum or Vue Orleans)
Monday Morning: Fly home
Getting around: Canal Street streetcar to City Park on Saturday, Uber/Lyft for the Metairie stops on Sunday
A few specific questions for locals: Is the Hotel Monteleone a solid choice or is there somewhere better for a girls group (most likely 30yo-50yo)?
Any must-eat spots I should know about for the meals I haven't planned yet?
Is Frenchmen Street on a Saturday night after Beignet Fest going to be too crowded or is it still worth it?
Any hidden gems or things we'd regret missing? Thanks in advance!
