Advice on stain/coat for 1909 craftsman house wood
Renovating this house and contractors remove old finishing, as I understand it’s the original shellac. What would be a good choice to cover and stain this wood with, mostly doors and doorframes.
Also there will some new window frames (only outside part) installed so thinking maybe to stain in the same way.
My main concern is to make it non toxic, eco friendly, especially as I have a small child, also that it’s appropriate by house period/style, no shine or polyurethane.
