Hi everyone,
I’m currently trying to decide whether I should buy the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 or go with the Qidi Q2C, and I’d really like to hear some honest opinions from people who already own or have experience with the Centauri series.
I know the Qidi is clearly designed more towards engineering and high-temperature applications, so on paper it probably makes more sense for materials like PA6 and other technical filaments. However, I’m still trying to give the Centauri Carbon 2 a chance because the printer looks very interesting and the price/performance seems really attractive.

My main requirements are:

- A reliable multicolor system
- Good print quality with PLA (this will be most of my printing)
- The ability to print engineering materials occasionally, especially PA6 or similar filaments
- Good overall reliability and user experience

Most of the time I’ll probably be printing PLA, prototypes, and functional parts, but I really want a machine that won’t limit me if I decide to move into more demanding materials later.
For those of you who own the Centauri Carbon 2:
How capable is it really with materials like nylon/PA6?
Is the enclosure and temperature management good enough for those materials?
How reliable is the multicolor system?
Would you still choose it over something like the Qidi Q2C?
I’d really appreciate any real-world feedback, especially from people who print both PLA and engineering-grade materials.
Thanks!
