My sister just rushed her dog to the vet bc she suspected bloat, and turns out that’s what it is. She just had a baby and the vet bill is $10,000 which she can’t afford. What are her options? TIA
UPDATE: my question was more asking for advice regarding financing, payment methods, etc. not whether or not to save the dog.
My sister caught it basically as it developed and had him at the vet in an hour. They initially quoted her $10k which I believe was a worst case scenario. They offered her the app for CareCredit, which I didn’t know about prior to posting this. Between her and her partner she was approved for the full amount, which was about $5k. They took him so surgery which took several hours, but he did well. Later on in the night he was too active in the kennel and blew hisincision and was taken back to surgery. So far he’s doing okay. Thank you all for the advice.
