How likely am I to get non-renewed if I go out on medical leave the last week of school? I’m really struggling with my mental health and genuinely think I might need to go to residential to keep myself safe but I’m terrified of losing my job. I don’t qualify for FMLA yet because I’m still in my first year. Do I have any options? Do I explain to my principal what’s going on?
I’ve done three IVs, I feel better for two-ish days and then I crash. Will it get better after I finish the whole series of six or am I a non-responder?
Any teachers here dealing with chronic mental illness? I have treatment resistant depression and I find I’m drowning at work (special education pre-k) even though I honestly love my job. I just started IV Ketamine treatments and balancing that with work has been really hard with how little time off we get. I wanted to go to a residential facility but I don’t even qualify for FMLA yet because I haven’t been with the district a full year yet. Just feel like I’m dropping all the balls and want to know if anyone is in my shoes and what you do to cope.
Is it better to listen to the same playlist every time or different ones each session? If different ones each session, does anyone have any recommendations for lyric-less playlists on Apple Music?
Update to my post about if I should go around my psychiatrist, I did in fact decide to go around her and get a second opinion from another psychiatrist and my neurologist and both agreed that Spravato would be the safer option given my seizure history. I’m starting ketamine infusions this afternoon and will transition to Spravato once it’s approved by insurance. I just messaged my psychiatrist to let her know, so we’ll see what she responds with.

How do you explain ketamine treatments for mental health to your loved ones? I’m having trouble explaining it to my husband, I know he’ll be supportive no matter what, but I’d like him to know what the point is and why I’m getting these treatments that he has to being me to and from.
Hi! I am very interested in trying Spravato but my psychiatrist wants me to try TMS first. I assume this is because they have TMS in clinic but do not offer Spravato in clinic so I would have to go elsewhere for that. I tried to get approved last summer for TMS and was denied because I have a seizure disorder (but I’ve been seizure free for 5 years). My question is should I reach out to a clinic and go over my psychiatrist’s head for it? I LOVE my psychiatrist but I feel kind of weird about how TMS is being pushed and Spravato hasn’t even entered the conversation.
