After riding through the suburbs on a warm sunny day, a leak coming from the rear shaft wheel hub was observed across my rear tyres. I don’t want to risk it anymore and take the bike out on a ride due to the oil around the rear tyres. Mechanics of the bike said it was serviced accordingly as per log book. Is this a case of an overfilled rear shaft oil or a leaky axle seal, nonetheless, a changed oil (160cc) and seal replacement would be deemed necessary just to be sure . What are your thoughts? l

Yesterday, we started the day with an engine oil service. Changing the oil is pretty straightforward, however, oil filter removal was different from the one’s Im used to, and took me longer to remove it compared to a traditional design. After servicing, we loaded the bike with the standard luggage system, Im not usually a big fan of hard luggage due to weight, but I quite like the luggage system, that came with it. A lot of room for storage, which is one of the factors that made us consider this type of bike, along with comfort. The conditions of the next two days were wet and windy, with continuous patches of rain. First stint of our ride was the highway, this was actually the worst part of the trip, there was a lot of buffeting, windy conditions did not help, like having bobble heads, my partner had the same experience. The rest of our trip was all country roads, which we always ride with our Interceptor 650, V85TT turns easily in corners and does not feel heavy at speed. The bike is very friendly and easy to get along with. I don’t really chase horsepower in my current riding tenour, I appreciate a motorcycle with good handling and good power delivery for our mountain riding and motocamping. I like the relaxed tractor feel of the engine, it has enough power and torque for our use case. Overtaking, cruising, and fun riding have all been ticked for this bike. Electronics, Im usually a twist and go, analog type of rider but it doesn’t hurt to have the additional bells and whistles like cruise control, heated grips, better lighting system, and various riding modes. The bike has been left overnight, with patches of rain until morning for it’s first baptism as part of the crew so she needs to get tested. The pillion left foot peg had some vibrations, and the wind bufetting lead to a sore neck but those were the only concerns. Overall, we like the bike and it fits our use case.

PS: Thank you for those whole help us out in making the decision to get the motorcycle , we like it 😊
