Hey folks,
Looking for some honest feedback from experienced credit card users here.
I’ve accumulated a bunch of cards over time, and I’m trying to rationalize my portfolio, especially identify which paid (non-LTF) cards might not be worth keeping anymore.
Here’s my current setup (annual charges mentioned are excluding GST):
Paid Cards:
- HDFC Tata Neu Infinity – ₹1,499
- HDFC Swiggy Card – ₹500
- Flipkart Axis Credit Card – ₹500
- Airtel Axis Credit Card – ₹500
- SBI Octane BPCL – ₹1,499
LTF Cards:
- HDFC Regalia Gold (Priority Pass lounge)
- HDFC Rupay UPI Card
- Amazon Pay ICICI Card
- ICICI Sapphiro (Mastercard + Amex, both LTF with Priority Pass)
What I’m trying to figure out:
- Which paid cards feel redundant or low value given this portfolio?
- Any overlapping benefits I might be missing?
- Which ones are actually worth paying annual fees for long-term?
- Would you recommend consolidating around fewer, higher-value cards?
Additional details for better suggestions:
- Current CIBIL: 780
- Age: 32
- Monthly Income & Employment: ~₹2L (Salaried)
- Monthly Expenses / Spending: ~₹1L
Spending Patterns:
Top Monthly Categories:
- Online shopping (Amazon/Flipkart/Myntra/Meesho/FirstCry) - Around 10K
- Food delivery (Swiggy/Zomato) - Around 5 K
- Utilities (electricity, mobile, etc.) - Around 5 K
- Fuel - Around 7k
- Subscriptions / OTT - Around 2k
Top Annual Categories:
- Electronics / big purchases - Mobile/Laptop/AC
- Travel (flights, hotels – occasional)
- Festival / sale shopping - ~20K
- Dining / outings - ~ 10k
Preferences:
- Preferred Benefits: Cashback + practical savings (not too inclined towards complex reward systems)
- Reward Preference: Cashback (primary), Reward points (secondary if high value)
- Lounge Access: Good to have (not a heavy traveler but useful occasionally)
- Other Needs:
- Want to reduce unnecessary annual fee burden
- Avoid overlapping cards with similar benefits
- Prefer simple, high-value cards over too many niche ones
P.S. First post here, I would really appreciate your support and interaction. Feel free to be brutally honest 😄
