New to the group. My beautiful boy requires Mura 128 drops in both eyes to reduce sodium. He had an ulcer years ago they did graph surgery on and saved it. He is regularly taken to the only canine optometrist in my province and was just there April 10th for follow up. No ulcer detected…we were away for a week on the 24th and he was boarded for the week. I found out on the 29th he had a ruptured eye
Ulcer. Although he had been brought to emergency twice, they said they would refer us to an optometrist in NB who had a better reputation that may be able to help and gave us two pain medications and two eye drops. He is in so much pain since we got home our vet seen him and is doing eye removal tomorrow morning…we can’t possibly wait for a referral possibly to be told it’s not salvageable and then to wait for a surgery. I need advice. Does this look similar to anyone’s experience? Was it salvageable? I don’t want to have regrets. I don’t know how it was missed on the 10th or how it happened while boarded.
How will he adjust? His sight use to be his super power. I am devestated.
How will he adjust? I know it is going to break me to see him tomorrow with his eye removed unsure if we did the right thing…he is in too much pain to wait…
