Hey all

Have a home I am renting out.
Agent told me tenants left a window open and rain soaked a power port and the property lost electricity.

Property manager called an electrician, cost around $400 to fix, charged to the tenant. That's all I know.

Do you reckon any permanent damage could have been done to the wiring etc?

Now, the only reason I ask this / more anxious is:

We moved into a different house we are renting in a different town, and 1 day in my wife (pregnant at the time) got a nasty shock (entire R arm in pain) by the kitchen sink and we had to leave the house for 1 week whilst (quote from the electrician) 90% of the wiring had to be done. Had to live in a motel for 1 week.

If it wasn't for the 2nd experience I wouldn't have any concerns. Just after some reassurance.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I own a large house that I want to set up in such a way that it provides privacy for my wife/me/our children one one side and my elderly parents on the other side.

The current layout is suitable, which is why we bought the house.

But I basically need to add in 2 walls or doors + a kitchenette.

I need someone to guide me as to

e.g.

- where the best place to put the walls are

- select doors / wall / operable wall

- where and what size kitchenette etc to put in

This is the first house I have ever owned, and I want to pay a professional to get the right advice and in general just hold my hand so I don't do anything stupid as a first timer.

Can anyone recommend a good person to contact about this?

Thanks
