naya phone le liya (wo vera purana kharab ho raha to wo alag hai) but honestly, very grateful to them, and they're satisfied (wo islie bhi kyoki mai 30% disabled hu, permanent disability, as in, i have no vision in one eye, due to an accident 7 years ago, i also don't qualify for pwd as the benchmark is 40%, so have to live with this, forever. I suppose- God made me disabled, but not disabled enough to avail any benefit from it. ) Only i know how difficult it is, to live with one eye, which probably i will have to bear forever, its fine really, ive accepted it. And i'm going to score good in mht cet, scoring 100-110 in mocks, will give my 100%. thank you for reading this. and also, ive applied for re-evaluation with photocopy of hsc marks, criteria meet ho raha hai, par kam die hai unho ne. i will prove everyone wrong who thought my life is over aur ab ye kya hi kar payega. sab ka mu chup kardia 10th me 90% la ke, ab 12th mai bhi. achhe college me jaunga, not doing this for anyone. ANYONE else, except me and my parents. i will not give up and succeed no matter what.
This is my first post
A bit about me:
I’ve done Bhrigu Lake trek 2 yrs before, so I’m not a complete beginner, and I dis it pretty comfortably
Comfortable with moderate altitude, but I know Rupin is a step up
Decent fitness, currently preparing for longer days. I will have a porter so that's one thing off my plate. (Sorry for long post)
What I’m specifically looking for:
What kind of night temperatures did you face at higher camps?
Snow sections near the pass – how intense / risky are they?
Any specific gear you were glad you carried (or regret not carrying)?
How does it actually compare to Bhrigu Lake?
Which days are the toughest (mentally + physically)?
Anything that caught you off guard?
Are waterproof gloves + outer layer enough for summit day?
Any must-have small items people usually overlook?
I’ll be carrying my Nikon Coolpix P610 mainly for birding
Is it practical to carry and use regularly, or does weight/trek pace make it difficult?
What kind of birds/wildlife did you spot on this route?
Any specific sections where photography opportunities are better?
5. Yuvashakti-specific feedback (if any)
* How was your experience with them?
* Pace, safety, food, and campsite quality?
Things you wish you did differently
Common rookie errors on this trek
I’m trying to go in well-prepared, not overpacked, and would really appreciate detailed insights rather than generic tips.
What I have in mind for layering:
Upper body
Base: polyester T-shirt
Light mid: thin polyester jacket
Mid: fleece (primary warmth while moving)
Outer: softshell (wind protection)
Shell: waterproof rain jacket
Insulation: puffer (camp/stops only)
Thermals: only for sleep/early morning
Lower body
Trekking pants (quick-dry)
Thermal bottom (night only)
Waterproof shell pants (wind/rain/snow)
Socks
2–3 trekking socks (rotate, keep dry)
1 warm pair (sleep only)
Footwear
Mid/high ankle trekking shoes (broken-in)
Optional gaiters
Accessories
Gloves (fleece/wool, optional waterproof outer)
Wool/synthetic cap
Buff/neck gaiter
Sunglasses
Sun cap
Thanks in advance!
