Reminder: you deserve to feel valued in this role
I come to this sub a lot and see so many posts about burnout, disrespect, and being undervalued. I want to offer a different perspective.
There are amazing execs out there. I’ve been in my role for about a year and my CEO genuinely cares about me and my well being. He doesn’t micromanage. He checks in, asks how I’m doing and asks for my input and takes my advice seriously.
During my recent performance review he asked ME how much of a raise I wanted. He followed that up with “do you want a bonus too?” Of course I said yes but probably should’ve asked for more 😂
All of this to say, this role exists and this kind of leadership exists. It hasn’t always been butterflies and rainbows to get to this point. I’ve been through horrible execs, layoffs, not feeling valued etc. but everything I’ve been through has led me to my current situation.
I know the job market sucks but do not stay in a role that you’re not valued and disrespected. You matter and your mental health matters.
If you’re in a tough situation, don’t settle. There’s better out there!
I truly love this sub and see you and hear all of you ❤️
