Migraine and Menstrual Cycle
Hi all I am a 25 year old woman. I recently my second awful migraine in my life, leading to two steroid shots because my sumatriptan did not do enough. Luckily I had an annual gyno appointment later that week. This is the second time this has happened where I had to get the steroid shots. These past two migraines have coincided with my period.
I luckily had an annual gyno appointment that same week and she offered that I should skip my period pill week with my hormonal birth control. I was wondering if anyone has done this to relieve their migraines? I am not sure if my migraines are hormonal, but it seems they are.
She wants me to plan to have my period every three months or so but I am worried about side effects on my body? Anyone in a similar boat? Thank you in advance!
