Mother's Day gift

I don't know maybe I'm the problem but what do y'all think? Last year for Mother's Day I was nine months pregnant. My boyfriend hyped up the fact that it was basically my first Mother's Day because I was about to pop anyways however, on the day of, his mother told him it was bad luck to give a gift or even flowers for Mother's Day when there was no baby so I didn't fight it. Who am I anyways to be upset about something like that anyways, it is their choice. This Mother's Day my was now really my first Mother's Day and my boyfriend decided to work, okay fine we had the rest of the day afterwards to celebrate. For Mother's Day, my very first Mother's Day. I got a shirt with my child's face on it. Now I don't know but I feel like the only time you put someone's face on a shirt is when they have passed away and it's only recently that people have started putting peoples faces on shirts for fun but anyways I got a shirt and a card that by the way didn't even say happy Mother's Day in it. It's not that I'm not grateful for even receiving a gift. I guess I just wanted something a little more heartfelt. Or even some flowers. I'm torn between saying something about my feelings or just moving past it because I don't wanna seem like an ass. Would you say something about it? Would you keep it to yourself? Am I overthinking this?
