The country of Zoros—now the Republic of Zoros, though formerly the Kingdom of Zoros—is in the throes of socio-economic collapse due to its recent defeat in the Great Imperial War (1364–1372). After eight years of constant fighting, they lost approximately 45% of their territories, including their greatest economic asset: the Louf oil fields. Twelve years after the “Great Humiliation,” there is an ideological movement in the country, with significant government influence, that is pressuring the president to declare war on the Principality of Huntarion, which has occupied the Louf region since the end of the war.

- In this world, powers exist. No one knows their origin; one day, humans began to be born with powers. This event is known as “The Awakening,” and years are counted from it (A.D. and D.D.).
- Humans are born with all kinds of powers, ranging from glowing in the dark or growing excessive body hair to possessing superhuman strength or generating and controlling a specific element.
- Almost all humans manifest their powers around the ages of 6 to 10, though there have even been cases of 3-month-old babies awakening their powers.
- Being born without powers is very rare; the last reported case of a child without powers was over 24 years ago. A 13-year-old boy named Alfredanius Fortunio was reported by his parents as an unawakened.
- Powers can be inherited, although it is not uncommon for a child to be born with a power that is similar to, derived from, or completely different from that of their parents.

- That period of constant war would last nearly a millennium and a half, since until the year 1043, the world would not have a single year without more than 10 simultaneous wars. In fact, the current era is the most peaceful and developed in human history since the time of “Great Lavarian.”
- The reason there is so little information about the past is that, during so many years of war, preserving and safeguarding history took a back seat, and the loss of knowledge intensified even further in the first post-awakening millennium, as humanity’s capacity for destruction had multiplied
