My onion was in the fridge too long and started sprouting. I know you can plant a whole onion that’s sprouted and it’ll grow a flower/seeds but can I plant it if it’s been cut in half or will it just rot? If I can plant it, do I cover everything but the sprout with soil or do I leave the open part of the onion exposed?
