Yesterday I posted a photo of my face on a subreddit for sharing those kinds of photos. Today, I got a message asking to send me money. I’m a woman if it makes any difference.
Here’s how the conversation went:
Stranger: Can I send u money?
Me: why would you send me money?
Stranger: Cuz u pretty af
Stranger: U got PayPal?
It can’t be real because why would you send a random person money just because they’re attractive? So I’m wondering how this works if it’s a scam?
My PayPal account is business and has no personal information visible to anyone, so I doubt it’s for that? I send it to strangers all the time because I do commissions and have never had any issue.
So what else is it? Has anyone gotten a message like this before? I’ve heard they can do something by sending you money and then getting your account banned, but what’s the purpose of that? I don’t keep any of my money on PayPal. Also, the account is a year old but with only 7 contributions and 2 karma, so that’s suspicious too
