▲ 10 r/rum
I admit I mostly drink rum in cocktails in recipes from Smuggler's Cove or Minimalist Tiki.
- Currently my Jamaican rums are:
Appleton Signature, Myers, Smith and Cross
I have also Plantaray OFTD and 3 stars which has some Jamaican blend in it.
I like funk/hogo taste, I enjoy it but i'm not overly crazy about it.
Some recipes call for unaged Wray&Nephew unaged overproof white rum. Am I loosing a lot? I know Smith and Cross is lightly aged but is it such a difference in cocktail? Someone said that Plantation 3 stars have a little funk from W&N so does mixing Smith and Cross with P3 wouldn't be similar?
Is it so diffirent that is worth buying?
- I have Agricole 9yo Dillon Hors D' Age rhum and I love it, then I bought unaged Saint James Imperial Blanc a it taste like olive brine, weird compost.. it is so different and I wouldn't say I like it. Is this unaged agricole is what every agricole blanc taste like? I can buy Clement Bleue 2022 50% but it's fairly expensive and I dont know is it worth giving another chance? I dont want to end up with bottle I hate, but otherwise maybe high end stuff wouldn't taste with this olive brine weird shit?
