deciding between cal poly slo and ucsb as a premed
hiii so i was accepted+commited to cal poly slo as a chem major, but i recently got off the waitlist for UCSB, so I was wondering if you guys had any input? here are the pros/cons that I've been able to gather so far for slo:
Pros
- More connection to prof/peers bc smaller class sizes
- learn by doing leads to more technical skills
- No grad students on campus so research might be easier to get(but opportunities still seem somewhat minimal)
Cons
- know nobody going there
- really hard to switch majors
- also slightly hard to get clinical exp
- slight lack of racial diversity/asian community in the surrounding area
