My showers surround has a lip that sits behind the drywall and it is nailed into the studs sitting behind the shower.

My plan is to clean up the edges and cut strips to fit over the lip of the surround. I assume I will need to tack those strips into the lip of the surround.

Any advice or things you would do differently?
