How can you avoid common mistakes when launching a new SaaS project?

Every time I try to start a new project, I fall into the same trap. I start building instead of validating the idea. I don’t focus enough on the problem. I get lost in subreddit comments or LinkedIn posts. I lose sight of my core features. I get carried away adding new features instead of focusing on what matters most.

Even though I know full well it’s a trap, I can’t help but fall into it.

How do you know which early architectural decisions will actually matter later?

Whenever I embark on a new project, I find myself faced with several instances of technical debt that would have been very easy to fix at the outset, but which take a long time to resolve later on.

How do you assess which architectural decisions made early on will lead to technical debt later on? I feel like I can only tell whether a decision really has a significant impact or not once it’s already too late. This is all the more true with ‘vibe coding’, where you code much faster...
