Hey everyone,

I recently noticed I might have a cavity in one of my teeth and I’m not really sure what the process is to get it checked. I just moved to Kingston and I’ve never been to a dentist here before.

A bit of context:

- I don’t currently have private dental insurance (I’ll be getting it in about 3 months)

- This would be my first visit to a dentist in Canada

I had a few questions and would really appreciate any advice:

  1. How do I find and book an appointment with a dentist in Kingston? Can I just call a clinic directly or do I need a referral?

  2. Roughly how much does a checkup and cavity filling cost without insurance?

  3. Are there any affordable clinics or student clinics in/around Kingston?

  4. Should I wait until I get insurance, or is it better to get it checked right away?

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has recommendations for clinics, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
