Plus size stores? Physical stores in Sydney & any online stores
Long story short, I use to be much bigger. I was up to 125kg during Covid, I lost a lot of weight over the years so I’m a bit out of touch with plus size fashion. My bff of 25 years is roughly a size 18/20 and is STRUGGLING to find clothes that fit her but also make her feel good.
We both live in rural NSW, so her options are slim, she’s only got clothes from Kmart and what she does have is very limited.
Her 30th is coming up and I’m taking her on a girls night out to Sydney, she’s having a lot of anxiety because she says she doesn’t have any “going out clothes” and truly thinks there are not nice plus size clothes out there! There is, at least there was when I was bigger, she’s not even “big” imo but I do remember how it feels to struggle in every single store and just feeling defeated and depressed after trying so many stores, and I don’t want that for her on this trip.
Anyone have any recommendations? Preferably any physical stores in or around Sydney CBD, I’m happy to drive out of our way to Sydney if there’s some good options. She’s tried a few stores in the next few towns over (which is about an hour/ hour and a half drive from us) and liked one shop, “Yours and Ours”, but there wasn’t a huge range in the location we went to.
I just want to help her feel comfortable and beautiful. We’re seeing a musical and she’s scared she won’t be “well dressed” enough due to her wardrobe, I think it’s fine but if anyone has any recommendations or even inspo pics of plus size fashion, I’d be truly grateful 🙏🏼
For context, if it helps, she’s tall (approx 170cm tall, she’s part italian part Croatian, first gen Australian. I am very white, so she says she doesn’t like showing her legs to arms due to having darker body hair than me.
