I had come down with Long COVID, and it raised hell with my digestive system. Twice with severe colonic pain that barely responded to anti-spasmodics. The last one was so bad that riding public transit became a contest of endurance. The only relief was a water enema, with one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of baking soda. That pain finally went away. But then my digestion completely shut down. I found myself nauseous on the bus and grabbing a sick bag. I don't feel hunger during work, and so I can have a comfortable day, don't eat until I get home. But I vomited only about maybe an once and a half. It wasn't sour! It had no flavor of any kind! I immediately got an appointment with my doctor. He ordered an immediate colonoscopy, while I went on a liguid diet. The colonoscopy was normal. But my digestion slowly came back as the Long COVID finally began to leave my system. But I am left with a loss of appetite and have to remember to eat. I eat a high fiber diet, and though everything is finally transversing again. I'm left feeling drained, and heavily depressed, and every once in awhile, struggle to have a BM. I'm still working through my doctor. But the only thing that has given me any relief, is an increase in my magnesium. But it's a balance between the laxative effect and normality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
