My Request to Switch Therapists is Being Completely Ignored
Hello! I submitted a request to switch mental health therapists over 2 months ago at Kaiser over the phone. I was then told I should get a call back within a few days to schedule a phone call appointment with the case manager to know what I would need in the next therapist, so essentially just the first step in the process. I never received a phone call back or a portal message so two weeks later, I called back and was then told the process takes a bit longer than I was originally told. I totally understand this, but it has now been almost 2 and a half full months since I originally submitted my request. I have since called back two or three times and asked to know the status of my case, as well as to politely express my frustration that I am not getting the care I need. Every time, I am told that the case manager is aware of my case, but that it is still being reviewed and is not yet cleared for the first step. To add on, I have never switched providers before, this is my first time in adult psychiatry, so it is not like I frequently switch providers. I am genuinely frustrated at this point, as the first step is just setting up a phone call appointment with the case manager, not even the actual phone call yet. How has this not been done in over 2 and a half months. I know it can take a little but I am trying to switch therapists due to the last one honestly being horrible. I am not getting the care I need and it is affecting me. Does anyone know what else I can possibly do at this point? I feel unheard and have tried to push my case to be looked at, but have gotten absolutely nowhere in months. Anyone please let me know thank you so much!
