Hi all,

This may sound like a common request, but I've yet to find one that matches the vibe I'm looking for. The books I've seen have been RH or lust first, then love.

I'm looking for a book where the FMC is kind of an outsider, sticks to herself as a result of her toxic home life. Despite how quiet she is, it's very apparent how smart and complex she is with hobbies and interests that he finds intriguing, since the girls that try to get his attention are not like her. That's where his infatuation begins, and he starts quietly watching her, growing more obsessed and yearning, but never feeling good enough to approach her. Maybe he can't because there's pressure on him to do well in sports to go professional. The MMC himself doesn't really interact with people and keeps to himself, despite being popular for his achievements in his sport.

Maybe one day they're assigned to do a project together and he finally feels like he can breathe when she's near. Maybe she thinks he's really intense with how he stares at her while they work, and how he seems to slowly move closer throughout their sessions. He gets to know her better and falls in love with her. I would love if their relationship progressed naturally and so gently. Like he slowly begins to touch her. First hands grazing, then shoulders brushing, turning into hugs, and then he literally just can't stop touching her. He cannot be around her without touching her some way. They spend their days together all the time and he can't bear being without her.

The rest of the plot can be whatever but I would love to read a book with this exact dynamic (with spice). Please no RH!
