Background: I’ve (15m y10) got a crush on this girl (16f y11). She’s really nice, but also tough and a bit intimidating. We’ve been talking for about a month. A couple of days ago, I asked for her number. Everyone around here uses Snap or Insta, so she was a bit confused and asked, "Why?" I just awkwardly said, "To ch-at." (sorry it wont allow me to put the word in so i separated it in half)
The Texts: I messaged her on WhatsApp:
Me: Hi- it’s [My Name] (I asked for ur number yesterday)
Me: Cool pfp. Slightly unhinged..... but definitely ‘interesting’
I didn't hear back for 2 days and basically gave up. Then she replied:
Her: thank youuu yeah its been like that for ages i barely use whatsapp 😅
Her: btww im really sorry if i was rude i just panicked and didn't want to give off the wrong impression 😁
The Aftermath (Where I messed up):
We talked later, and I basically said I was acting weird too. I told her my "brain was kinda switched off" when I asked for her number. Stupidly, I didn't clarify that my brain switched off because I was nervous/scared. It sounded more like an excuse for why I shouldn't have asked in the first place. I then started talking about other stuff with her but then another girl came and asked her questions and i was basically pushed out kinda.
My possible problems:
- I'm worried she's confused about my intentions now.
- I'm trying to figure out if she realizes I have a crush on her (I'm too scared to say it directly).
- She's currently got her GCSEs right now and she might be stressed, so the timing is bad.
what should i do now?-- like without making it wose- i also mess up this because I am naturally introverted so doing this is out of my comfort zone - i kinda ust want to say to her like you do the stepping off the curb without looking but like then you have do expalin the rest asw and its "normal" for the male to do that isnt it? (im not being misogynistic cause id rather it wasnt like that)????????????
its also important t add that like she hasnt pushed me away like in any sort of way as is she hasnt (t least i dont think so) rejected me in any sort of way and like we spar together and stuff (she beats me) but what is kinda how it started.
