I'm in a similar situation (family dislikes my partner) and I'd like to know what people's experiences are.

I've heard a lot of people tell me "that's just how Balkans parents are" and I guess. I've also heard "Oh, they eventually get over it" or "They'll get over it when you have kids" but how does that actually play out in day to day life though?

Anyway, I'd like to hear about peoples' experiences with that.
