Hey guys!! I wanted to post here because I am looking to go back to school with the goal of becoming a DVM.

I’m 25 years old in July, and I have worked as a floater at 3 different vets by me. I first got into this field at 20 sort of by accident (looking for a full time job and landed a receptionist position) but I realized that I want to pursue vet school.

I will start out by saying that I graduate high school in 2019 with a 3.5 GPA. High school was particularly difficult for me because I was dealing with my GAD and ADHD unmedicated. So I didn’t go college since it was too daunting. Finally after years of trying to figure out what I would like to do career wise this is where I’m at.

I looked into the University of Maryland’s college of Agriculture and Natural Resources and saw they offer an Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine program. But the typical core science and math courses are biochemistry, calculus, general chemistry, organic chemistry, etc… I just don’t feel that I am prepared in any way for classes like those to start out.

So I guess what I’m looking for advice on is if it’s worth it to go to community college first and re-familiarize myself with the basics of math and science and then apply for university? I’m not sure, I guess I’m just looking for the best route since I am going back to school for the first time since graduating HS in 2019.

Thank you for any help!!!
