Bought house with ledger installed and footings poured. There are not any footings near the house. The deck will be 16x28 in its current configuration. Deck builder I am talking to doesn’t think the cantilever is an issue and doesn’t think I would need additional footings/posts/beams by the house. I also received drawings from the previous owner that an engineer produced for them showing the connecting at the house and apparently it was approved by the city. Everything I’ve read says you can’t attach to cantilever wall though . Reddit deck pros - am I overthinking this? What do you think?
