Hi all,

Looking for some advice on a situation in my apartment complex. My parking slot is right next to the garbage disposal area. For the past 2–3 weeks, garbage collection has been getting delayed intermittently, and now it has reached a point where bins are overflowing and people have started dumping waste outside as well.

This has made the area quite unhygienic and is attracting pests. I’ve already had a rat issue once, which ended up damaging my car wiring (had to spend to fix it), so I’m quite concerned this might repeat.

I’m planning to raise this in the association group with:

  1. A request for a temporary alternate parking slot until things improve

  2. Suggestions like more bins, closed/enclosed waste area, backup garbage vendor, regular pest control, and possibly relocating the disposal area

  3. Also thinking of asking if there can be some accountability/support in case of damage due to such issues

Does this sound reasonable?

Anything else I should propose or be careful about when raising this with the association?

Would appreciate inputs, especially from people who’ve dealt with similar situations in their societies.
