Jury Duty
I've been called up for jury duty for the second time in two months (deferred the first time). I filled out the form and notified the county that I have serious intermittent hearing loss with no known cause or mitigation yet, but they have called me up again and I go in tomorrow.
I do have an ENT appointment in about 10 days, but in the meantime my hearing is still very poor.
I don't know why they didn't consider this an issue and I know I won't be able to hear well during the in-person selection process tomorrow.
I haven't served on a jury before and I am worried - will they be angry when I have trouble hearing announcements? Will there be a time when I can explain to someone that I won't be able to understand the proceedings well enough?
EDIT: Thanks so much, all.
The bailiff asked if anyone was hard of hearing and gave me a really good listening device. I had to ask a lawyer to adjust the mic once but no one was bothered. All went well. ♥️
