Yeah so our puppy (15 weeks, long hair Dutch shepherd, had him 7 weeks) gets special car treats (goat yogurt frozen in a slow feeder), which he enjoys very much, and he knows what the car is, and knows he gets the gogurt in the car, and will get in the car and get in his crate on his own, willingly, but then when the car is still he whines and barks. When the car starts moving, he settles down and licks his gogurt. When the car stops again, he barks and whines until he’s out.

I just… if we were traumatising him, he wouldn’t get in the car on his own, right? I’m not sure what to do to help him, or what is behind this behaviour.

We have been working with a trainer, but haven’t brought it up with her yet. I’m in the Netherlands just to forestall US-centric advice.
