illegal gold mining is everywhere in the amazon and africa etc, polluting rivers and fish and ultimately up the food chain to toxic levels of mercury in humans
it’s nearly impossible to stop because any law enforcement has to fly or go by river and hike for days to get to these remote areas, and by the time they get there the miners are alerted and disappear into the forest, only to return immediately to rebuild and continue
so why not send a constant stream of drones to blow up their equipment and mines? Drones could scan vast areas to detect then, they’re cheap and effective, i think it’s the only solution right now
