There is a fic I've been following since 2019. When I found it, it already was wip that had been last updated in 2016.
I have never been more obsessed, enamored, shocked, grateful (and 738485 adjectives more) with a fic. I left comments in every chapter on my first reading. And then I did an anual rereading, always leaving a comment on the last chapter. Telling the author (in summary lmao cause i wrote paragraphs) how much i love her work and that i hoped that some day she could give the story a closure.
I did that every year, and this year I was so desperate for more that I started reading the comments hoping the author had written something new about the story.
I found a comment in 2022 that the author had replied to: she got demotivated and had lost interest in writing this story specifically (cause she has new works). But she had a general outline of the last chapters and a rough draft of what they'd be. She added a tumblr link and I kid you not I was so excited I waited a couple of days because I knew once I read it, it would be over for real.
When i finally did it, it felt like I closed a chapter in my life lmao. It was so satisfying and I was so happy cause the "drafts" were long ass chapters and I've never been more grateful. I don't know if it's crazy behavior but I'm so so grateful for all the writers that make our lives more enjoyable!!!!
