Renovating a flat that has a long entryway, approx 5 metres by a metre wide. Not a fan of the brown carpet but I'd like to keep them on the stairs for the time being.
I was thinking about a patterned/checkered floor, but I'm not sure if it would look too busy.
The panelling with a window is for privacy, and the pipe/cables that run along it. Open to removing it, but would prefer to decorate instead.
I could add a narrow piece of furniture but that may restrict the space too much for a bike.
Torn between something bright and playful or something Victorian-esque, hence the checkered floor.
I'm having trouble finding examples of similar entryways online. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, thanks.
