Race Week Doubts! How do you deal?
Hi! I’m running my first half marathon tomorrow after being a distance runner all of High School. I’ve had a great training block and I’m trying to break 2 hours. My longest run was 12.5 miles/10:15pace but I’ve also ran 7 below my goal half marathon pace.
I’ve ran 4-5 times per week with 2 workouts 2 easy runs and 1 long run (Nike Run Club plan for those familiar) Most easy runs have been at a 9:30pace & my workouts have felt hard but pretty good, w/the highlight being an 8k tempo that was about 8:50 pace.
Normally my headspace is my strong point, but for some reason since its my first race at this distance I am stressing out HARD. My sleep has been pretty great this week, but I’ve had a bad case of taper sniffles.
What are your tips for the doubts that creep in pre-race or just tips in general to help!
