I bought this knife back in 2021 and have carried and used it a lot. I have a ton of other knives with natural G10 scales so i figured id use the Begleiter as a test dummy for my first Rit Dye. I was hoping for more of a cherry red but I’m happy with how it came out. It reminds me a lot of the St. Nick’s Spyderco exclusives. The process was pretty easy and only took a minute to dye once i got the solution boiling.
My first Spyderco PM2 and first Cutlery Shoppe Exclusive. This knife is awesome. Really love what they did with the G10 scales on this model and the new ZroC finish seems really well done.
Next to my Psyop 299 for size reference. The action is probably the tightest i’ve ever experienced on a Spyderco knife. I disassembled, cleaned, lubed and loosened the pivot a little but it’s still nowhere near as smooth as my Para 3. Also not a huge fan of the choil nub smacking me in the finger when i close the knife. All that being said, this knife is a beast and i don’t regret buying it.
