If you are in your parked car.
In your parking garage. At your huge apartment complex.
Potentially intoxicated.
Had your keys.
Didn’t drive. Didn’t plan on driving. No reports/complaints of driving.

Nobody reported your car, but police came to your complex looking for you for a non criminal matter.

Is that enough for reasonable suspicion/probable cause to take you in for DWI/turn a non criminal matter into a dui work up?

Male 33

I’m trying to understand whether a recent episode sounds more consistent with severe alcohol withdrawal, a head injury, or some combination of both.

Context: 7 day long alcohol binge. 15 drinks per day. Sober for 2 months beforehand.

slipped inside the apartment on day 5 of the binge and had a head injury (large cut on forehead and scab on top of head).

On day 7 of the binge was arrested for a misdemeanor charge. The officer took them for a CT scan before jail.

On day 9 (2 days post binge and in jail) had symptoms which were significant shaking in the hands, confusion, severe hallucinations, and one seizure. The hallucinations continued for a few days afterward and included hearing/seeing things that were not real and believing false scenarios were happening. It wasn’t until many days later I learned none of what I imagined was real.

No prior history of seizures or psychosis. Symptoms have since resolved.

From a medical perspective, does that pattern sound more typical of alcohol withdrawal, head injury/concussion, or both? What follow up would be reasonable two weeks later, especially if there is still shoulder/neck pain after the seizure? (The medical care in jail was next to nonexistent. They didn’t do a medical checkup post seizure. I didn’t even know one occurred until 2 days later when other inmates told me.)
