I’ve never had migraines before until I got off my long term use of Nexplanon, which is a progesterone based birth control. I tried a different kind with estrogen, they started and have been horrible. I didn’t want to go back to progesterone because I’d have to be regular at taking the pill. Now fast forward to where I am, we are trying to get pregnant this year so I don’t want to get on any form of birth control for a while at least even if it would help the migraines.
My doctor gave me muscle relaxers and ibuprofen 800 but I’m sick of taking these to rely on relief. I read that magnesium citrate or glycinate might be helpful or B2 vitamin. Any ladies have luck with these?
Background info; I got pregnant at 15, before then never took birth control or had migraines. Right after having my son, went on Nexplanon. When it expired I’d get it switched with a new one for 10 yrs. Then went to estrogen BC when problems started.
I’m not sure if I get aura, but my eyes do get very sensitive and hurt when I get these migraines. I have heard that aura you get these little squiggly lines, I don’t get those so that’s why I’m unsure if that’s what type of migraines I have. Also it’s typically the week before my period they starts.
