Tips please for crate training and biting
Hi All, we got our gorgeous cockapoo 2 weeks ago when he was 8 weeks and a couple of days old and he won’t take to the crate at all. We couldn’t get a crate until he was 9 weeks old due to delivery etc. He was sleeping in a dog bed and has now gone against that as well. We were in touch with the seller and she kept all the pups on a couch and he does settle more when on the couch.
Firstly, Does anyone have any tips for crate training? We put his food in there for breakfast, lunch, dinner. We throw treats in as well. He chills in there for probably 15 minutes then runs out and when we lock the door, he starts bashing at, nearly like he is trying to tip it so we take him out immediately. I am starting to think that I’ll just get him a big bed and let him have that instead of the crate but I’ll try anything. Any advice would be appreciated.
We also have biting issues, we have toys and try to redirect him as much as possible and am hoping he’s just testing everything out.
